Working with a mineral operator, we have been successful in obtaining unanimous approval at Planning Committee for an extension to a former quarry in Shropshire. Subject to conditions and a s106 agreement, this would allow for over a million tonnes of aggregate to be extracted, with phased restoration of the site back to existing ground levels using inert fill materials. Once the initial phases have been restored, solar panels will be installed to help power the quarry operations with excess energy going to the grid or local third-party users.
