National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) to be revised

The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has launched at the end of January 2018 a consultation on proposed revisions to the NPPF which has been in effect since March 2012. The Government propose to issue a revised draft NPPF by Easter this year to be followed by a revised Framework later this summer. It is expected the revised NPPF will include, inter-alia, the much vaunted proposed new standard methodology for assessing housing need.
